PROVIDENCE, R.I. – JWU (Providence) baseball alum
Aidan Vining has been named to the
2025 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-America First Team.
Vining – who was named to the D3baseball.com All-Region 1 First Team and the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Region 1 First Team last week – led the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in nearly major statistical category, including wins (nine), complete games (five), innings pitched (91.2), strikeouts (113), and WHIP (0.92). The Woburn, Massachusetts native – who finished second in the GNAC in earned run average (ERA) (2.45) – struck out a season-high 15 at GNAC runner-up Mitchell on April 18.
Vining fanned 10 in back-to-back starts heading into the NCAA tournament, punching out 10 in the GNAC playoff opener against Colby-Sawyer (May 2) before repeating the feat six days later in a complete game win over the Mariners in game one of the GNAC Championship Series. The three-time GNAC Pitcher of the Tear graduated at JWU's all-time leader in both strikeouts (307) and innings (258.2), tied for No. 1 in wins (22), No. 2 in complete games (14), and No. 4 in ERA (3.06).
This marks the second All-America honor for Vining, who garnered a spot on the D3baseball.com All-America Fourth Team back in 2023, when he was named GNAC Pitcher and Rookie of the Year.
The Wildcats advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in five seasons in 2025 and finished with a 28-15 record.
