PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) baseball team improved to 18-10 on the season (9-1 GNAC) with a pair of wins over Dean College Friday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Game One: Wildcats 6, Bulldogs 1
Junior
Aidan Vining improved to 5-0 with his third complete game effort of the season. The Woburn, Massachusetts native allowed just four hits and one run while striking out nine. Senior
Xavier Botelho and sophomore
Jeff Valdez Jimenez each drove in a pair as the Bulldogs committed five errors which led to four unearned runs. Senior
Owen Davis collected an RBI on a single in the first which plated two of those four UR.
Game Two: Wildcats 3, Bulldogs 2
Freshman
Yedan Diaz hit a sac fly in the fourth for JWU, which scored a pair of unearned runs on an error in the eighth to pull out a one-run win. Junior
Ryan Ducey finished with three hits and junior
Jack Obert collected two. Senior
Ryan Schultz picked up his third win of 2025 and classmate
Garrett Fusco worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his third save.
