Owen Davis belted a two-run home run for the JWU (Providence) baseball team in a 10-4 loss to Methodist University Tuesday night in non-conference action at Armstrong-Shelley Field.
Senior
Zachary Amero went 3-for-3 and Davis, along with junior
Jack Obert and freshman
Yedan Diaz, all collected three hits for the Wildcats.
After an RBI single from Diaz in the top of the second, the Monarchs struck for seven runs (four earned) in the second behind seven hits and two JWU errors to move in front 7-1. The home team added one in the third and two in the sixth to extend their lead to 10-1 before Davis' round tripper in the eighth and an RBI groundout from sophomore
Henry Melanson in the ninth capped the scoring.
Junior
Brett Nickerson took the loss as he allowed nine hits and eight runs (five earned) in 3.0 innings.
