Juan drives in five in 9-1 win at Coast Guard

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Senior Trevor Juan smacked a three-run home run and drove in five runs in a 9-1 win for the JWU (Providence) baseball team Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at Nitchman Field.

Juan plated two with a single in the third before launching his first round-tripper of the season as the Wildcats improved to 5-8 on the season. Junior Jack Obert also went yard and freshman Jeff Valdez Jimenez picked up two RBI with a seventh-inning single.

Senior Xavier Botelho and freshman Yedan Diaz both tallied two this, and both Obert and Valdez Jimenez scored twice. Five different student-athletes took the bump for head coach Kevin Casey with freshman Elijah Wells tossing two hitless innings to earn his first collegiate win.
