JWU moves to 5-0 with 7-2 win over McDaniel

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Sophomore Aidan Vining allowed one earned run over eight innings of work for the JWU (Providence) baseball program in a 7-2 win over McDaniel College Friday afternoon in non-conference action at The Ripken Experience.
 
Senior Riley Hasson sparked the offense, going 3-for-4 with a two-run single, and junior Ryan St. Jean laced a two-run single in the sixth for the Wildcats, who own a 5-0 record for the first time since the 2014 campaign, when they opened the season with nine-consecutive wins.
 
Junior Trevor Juan added two hits both junior Xavier Botelho and junior Owen Davis also drove in runs for JWU. Vining, meanwhile, scattered 11 hits to go with two walks and five strikeouts to move to 2-0 on the season.
