Baseball moves to 4-0 win wins over Manhattanville, Cairn

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The JWU (Providence) baseball team rolled to a pair of wins over Manhattanville College and Cairn University Thursday evening in non-conference action at The Ripken Experience in South Carolina.

Wildcats 10, Valiants 1
Junior Xavier Botelho went 2-for-5 with three RBI and sophomore Jack Obert collected two hits, scored twice, and drove in two runs for the Wildcats. Freshman Dylan Young tossed six shutout of two-hit shutout ball with two walks and three strikeouts to earn his first collegiate win.

Wildcats 10, Highlanders 2
Junior Zachary Amero laced a two-run double and sophomore Jack Obert smacked a solo home run to propel the Wildcats to an eight-run win. Junior Gus Lappin plated two with a sac fly and a bases-loaded walk while junior Trevor Juan was one of three student-athletes to score twice for JWU. Sophomore Brett Nickerson fanned seven in three innings of work in his first start of 2024.
