PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior
Ryan St. Jean laced an RBI double for the JWU (Providence) baseball team in a 3-0 win over WPI Monday afternoon in non-conference action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Juniors
Trevor Juan and
Owen Davis also drove in a run as the Wildcats (9-5) ran their win streak to four. Sophomore
Max Randazzo continued his dominance on the bump, tossing seven innings of one-run ball to lower his earned run average (ERA) to 1.59. He fanned nine Engineers, giving him 21 strikeouts in his last 14.0 innings spanning two starts.
Davis pushed across the only run JWU would need in the fourth with a grounder to shortstop. Later in the frame, St. Jean doubled home classmate
Xavier Botelho to double the Wildcats lead to 2-0. Juan – who, along with Botelho, each finished with two hits – singled in senior
Jack Magane in the fifth to cap the scoring.
