Baseball wraps trip to Ohio with a pair against Otterbein

MARIETTA, Ohio – The JWU (Providence) baseball program closed its trip to the Marietta / JSN SPORTS Invitational Saturday evening at Don and Sue Schaly Field at Pioneer Park.

Game One: Cardinals 13, Wildcats 9
Junior Owen Davis smacked a grand slam in the third and classmate Ryan St. Jean belted a three-run home run in the fifth to help JWU build a 9-5 lead heading to the eighth. Senior Riley Hasson went 2-for-4 with an RBI single while junior Trevor Juan drew a pair of walks and scored twice. Junior Garrett Fusco got the start on the bump and pitched to a no-decision, allowed seven hits and five runs to go with two walks and six K's over five innings of work.

Game Two: Cardinals 14, Wildcats 6
Juan went 3-for-5 with an RBI single while senior Jack Magane laced two hits and scored twice. Hasson and freshman Nathan Roderiques each recorded an RBI single for the Wildcats, who committed three errors which led to four unearned runs. Freshman Dylan Young worked three innings for JWU and surrendered five hits and five runs in three innings of work to fall to 1-1.
