Baseball drops two at BSN Sports Invitational

MARIETTA, Ohio – The JWU (Providence) baseball team was defeated by Eastern Connecticut State University and Maretta College at the Marietta / BSN SPORTS Invitational Friday afternoon at Don and Sue Schaly Field at Pioneer Park.

Warriors 14, Wildcats 2
Senior Riley Hasson launched a solo home run in the second and laced an RBI double in the eighth that brought home redshirt sophomore Ryan Ducey. Hasson finished the contest with three hits while junior Owen Davis recorded two. Sophomore Aidan Vining surrendered seven hits and seven runs with four strikeouts in six innings of work for JWU.

Pioneers 11, Wildcats 0
Senior Jack Magane and junior Trevor Juan each picked up a double as five different Wildcats recorded a hit. Sophomore Max Randazzo got the start on the bump and allowed seven hits and four runs (three earned) in four innings of work. Marietta – which received votes in this week's D3baseball.com Top 25 poll after falling out last week – pounded out 15 hits.
