PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Graduate student
Aidan Bagley has been named to the 2024 United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA Division III All-Region I First Team.
Bagley – who was named the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Offensive Player of the Year and 2024 Defensive POY – led the Wildcats in goals (12) and points (29) for the second consecutive season while helping anchor a defensive unit which allowed just 21 goals in 21 matches. The Merrimack College transfer scored a goal in three-consecutive games on two occasions this fall (Sept. 4 - Sept. 11 & Sept. 17 - Sept. 25) and closed the season with points in eight of the last nine matches, registering 15 points during that span (6-3-15).
The Cumberland, Rhode Island native was also a perfect 7-for-7 on penalty kicks and was a key back for a JWU squad which recorded eight shutouts. Bagley capped his two-year career at JWU tied for No. 5 in game-winning goals in program history (seven) and tied for No. 9 in goals with 23.
The Wildcats finished the 2024 campaign with a 15-3-3 record and advanced to the GNAC Championship match for the third-consecutive season, where they were upended by top-seeded USJ, 2-1.
