Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

JWU improves to 4-2-0 with 3-1 win over Curry

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Junior Zoe Tow scored her third goal of the season early in the third period and freshman netminder Katelyn Cardoso stopped 27 shots to send the JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team to a 3-1 win over Curry College Friday night in Conference of New England action at Lynch Arena.

Sophomore Sadie Davignon potted her first goal of the season and junior Kylie O'Keefe added an empty-netter with 13 seconds remaining for the Wildcats (4-2-0), who improved to 4-1-0 in conference play and are off to their best six-game start under third-year head coach Maddy Santore.

Curry opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal 13:07 into the second before Davignon put home a pass from freshman Grace Adams to tie the game at one. In the third, Tow's third goal of the season at 3:19 off a feed from sophomore Sophia Brea proved to be the game-winner.

JWU was outshot 28-25 but killed off all five Curry power-play opportunities. Adams, meanwhile, led the Wildcats with three blocked shots.
