Wildcats drop 5-3 contest at Curry

CANTON, Mass. – Junior Zoe Tow picked up a goal and an assist for the JWU (Providence) in a 5-3 loss to Curry College Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Canton Ice House.

Senior Reese Middendorf and sophomore Sophia Brea each picked up goals for the Wildcats, who were outshot 40-21. Junior Madi Fox was one of five student-athletes credited with an assist, along with freshmen Kailin Kane, Ashlyn Libby, and Jordan Hopping.

The Wildcats held a 3-2 lead after 20 minutes, highlighted by goals from Middendorf and Tow 1:50 apart. Following a scoreless second period, the Colonels struck for three goals in the third, tying the game on the PP at 7:24 before grabbing the lead with 4:15 remaining in regulation.

Senior Sofia Tamayo stopped 35 shots while junior Allyson Barry and freshman Cailean Corbally each took three shots. JWU finished the afternoon 0-for-2 with the extra attacker.
