Eleven's are wild as Wildcats sweep Falcons

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Johnson & Wales (RI) University baseball team swept its Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader at Albertus Magnus College on Saturday afternoon at Rochford Field.

Game One: Wildcats 11, Falcons 0
Junior and reigning GNAC Player of the Week EJ Leone went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI doubles while juniors Xavier Botelho and Riley Hasson both laced two-run singles. Junior Thorin Sanchez-Guerra smacked a solo home run to center and also doubled home a run in support of freshman starter Aidan Vining, who scattered five hits and fanned 11 in seven innings of work to move to 4-2 on the season.

Game Two: Wildcats 11, Falcons 0
Freshman Jack Obert belted a three-run home run and drove in four, and sophomore Trevor Juan racked up a triple and a solo home run, finishing with two RBI. Botelho, meanwhile, picked up an RBI single and an RBI double while Leone notched two more hits and an RBI. Sophomore Ryan Schultz held the Falcons to three hits and struck out 10 over seven as he improved to 3-0.
