PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior EJ Leone went 4-for-5 with two RBI to propel the Johnson & Wales (RI) University baseball team to a 7-5 win over Roger Williams University Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at Paolino Field.

Junior Xavier Botelho and sophomore Owen Davis each drove in two runs for the Wildcats (14-10), who also received two hits from graduate student Griffin Snyder.

The Wildcats scored six times in the third inning to take control of the contest. Leone sparked the rally with a two-run double, followed by consecutive bases-loaded walks to Snyder and Davis. Botelho capped the rally with a two-run single to left to push the lead to 6-1. Davis added an RBI single in the fifth to wrap the JWU scoring.

Sophomore Garrett Fusco was credited with the win for the Wildcats, tossing 3.1 innings of scoreless relief to move to 2-0 on the season. He walked a pair and fanned four.
