NEW LONDON, Conn. – Sophomores Trevor Juan and Nicolas Fortes each belted three-run home runs in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 13-4 win at Coast Guard Tuesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action at Nitchman Field.

Fortes finished the contest 3-for-5 with four RBI while Juan picked up three hits and scored twice for the Wildcats (6-4), who have now won six of their last seven outings. Sophomores Owen Davis and Xavier Botelho also recorded three hits apiece as JWU saw six student-athletes pick up at least one RBI.

The Wildcats pushed across five runs in the fourth to open up a 5-1 lead. Botelho and junior Jack Magane laced RBI singles before Juan went yard for the fourth time this season. Fortes first round-tripper of the season in the sixth extended the JWU lead to 11-1 before RBI singles from Fortes and Davis in the eighth made it 13-4.

Sophomore Ryan Schultz tossed three innings of four-hit ball, allowing one run while striking out four. Classmate Garrett Fusco picked up the win in relief as he pitched two innings of scoreless relief to go with four strikeouts.
