Jonathan Baker has been named to the 2023
College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Soccer Academic All-District Team.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Defensive Player of the Year and Tournament MVP, Baker established career-highs in goals (five) and points (13) in 2023 while serving as a stalwart on defense for head coach
David Kulik. A native of Cumberland, R.I., Baker collected a season-high five points (2-1-5) in a win over Colby-Sawyer on Homecoming weekend and assisted on the game-tying goal in the closing minutes of a draw with Albertus Magnus (Oct. 17). He scored the only goal in the Wildcats tie with Rochester (NY) in the NCAA Tournament on November 11.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
