The Johnson & Wales Men's Baseball team fell to the Westfield St. Owls on Wednesday afternoon 17-1. JWU fell to 0-3 while the Owls improved to 3-0.
The Owls used three strong inning to build their lead, starting with a four run first frame. The hosts followed up their strong inning with a nine0run fourth inning, headlined by a Zack Graveline three run homer, putting the Owls ahead 9-0. They then added four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, with Trey Faulkner connecting on a two-run home run.
Xavier Bothelo (Rehoboth, Mass.) got the Wildcats on the board when he brought home Thorin Sanchez-Guerra (Lindenhurts, N.Y.)
JWU gets back in action on Thursday when they take on Crown (Minn.) at 6:30pm.
