The Johnson & Wales Baseball team dropped a non-conference tilt to Loras on Friday afternoon, 8-1. JWU falls to 0-5 while Loras stayed undefeated at 10-0.
Loras jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, scoring three runs before adding two in the second frame to take a 5-0 advantage. After adding two in the top of the fourth inning, the Duhawks added one in the top of the ninth inning to take an 8-0 advantage.
The Wildcats fought to the end, scoring their one run off of a home run rom Miles Kelly (East Setauket, N.Y.) in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The Wildcats take on Concordia on Saturday afternoon for the final game of their trip.
