EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The No. 6 ranked Johnson & Wales (RI) University wrestling squad scored a 19-17 win at No. 18 The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Friday night at Packer Hall.
Freshman Joziah Fry – who carried a No. 1 national ranking at 125 lbs. – earned a tech fall victory (18-3) in 5:42. Sophomore Dylan Harr picked up a tech fall win (18-3) at 197 lbs. in 7:00; he entered the match ranked third in the region.
Other winners for head coach Lonnie Morris included junior Matthew Garcia at 157 lbs. (8-5 decision), junior Scott Defex at 174 lbs. (9-4 decision), and freshman Adolfo Betancur at 285 lbs. (2-0 decision).
