Volleyball upended by No. 19 Tufts in NCAA Tournament

MEDFORD, Mass. – Junior Peyton Oliver tallied 11 kills in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 3-0 loss at No. 19 Tufts University in the First Round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament Thursday night at Cousens Gym. The Jumbos won game one 25-18, game two 25-13, and game three 25-20.

A Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team pick, Oliver also picked up eight digs and a pair of blocks. Junior Sarah Miller and sophomore Masina Tupea each collected six kills for the Wildcats, who won their seventh-consecutive conference championship last week and finish the season with a 20-12 record.

Senior GNAC Defensive POY Emily Corbett tallied a match-high nine digs for JWU, which posted a respectable .241 hitting pct. in the third set after struggling through the first two against the Jumbos defense. Sophomore Kyra Hissner racked up 18 assists to go with six digs while freshman Daniela Rank registered three kills.
