Of Note:
The opening game was a wild one for the Wildcats. A trio of errors in the top of the first inning set the stage for the nearly four-hour seven-inning contest. Both teams combined for eight errors in game one that JWU tied courtesy of a Colby Greenhalgh single in the bottom of the 6th to bring the score to 10-10. Anna Maria responded with a three run top of the 7th before the Wildcats answered with three of their own to push the contest to extra innings. After AMC grabbed a single run in the top of the 8th, the Wildcats had runners on the corners and one out looking to tie things up but the AMCATS spun a tough double play to close the inning and the game and take game one 14-13.
In the nightcap, Anna Maria posted five run 3rd inning to take the 6-2 lead after two and a half innings. It was all AMCATS from there as they earned two in the top of the 5th and one in the 6th while surrendering a single run in the 3rd and 6th to take the 9-4 victory.
