Hill Captures GNAC Rookie of the Year, Kitterick Named Coach of the Year

WINTHROP, Mass. – A six-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) rookie of the week recipient, first-year Emily Hill (Wilmington, Mass.) was selected as the GNAC Rookie of the Year as well as named to the All-GNAC first team announced Tuesday afternoon. She was joined on the first team by junior Claire Parry (Westport, Conn.), while fifth-year head coach Devin Kitterick earned Coach of the Year honors.

Hill registered an 11-2 overall singles record, including a 6-2 mark against conference foes from the top of the Wildcat line-up to secure an All-GNAC first team selection. Additionally, she paired with teammate sophomore Kourtney Moore (Roswell, Ga.) to compile a 12-1 mark in second doubles and 7-1 in GNAC play.

Parry joined Hill on the All-GNAC first team, following an outstanding season from the number one spot in the lineup. Tallying an 11-3 overall singles record with a 7-2 mark in conference action, Parry also teammated with sophomore Drew Bobey (Charleston, S.C.) to post a 9-4 mark in first doubles, including a 6-2 record against GNAC opponents.

Moore rounded out the Wildcats earning All-GNAC second team honors in singles. Primarily playing third singles, the Georgia native posted a 9-4 overall record, including 7-1 tally against conference foes.

Recognized by his peers, Kitterick garnered Coach of the Year accolades for the third time in four seasons.  After finishing third in 2018, Johnson & Wales returned to the top spot in the conference with a 13-2 overall record and a perfect 7-0 GNAC mark.
