Women's Tennis Falls to Eastern Nazarene in GNAC Final

WINCHESTER, Mass.- Despite a hard-fought match, the Wildcats came up short against Eastern Nazarene College in today's Great Northeast Athletic Conference final, falling 5-4.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after doubles. Kat Ledesma and Sydney Constantinidi grabbed the first win of the day with an 8-2 victory. After falling behind early, Claire Parry and Drew Bobey battled to push back the Lions for an 8-3 win.
JWU extended their lead to 3-1 as Gabby Velazquez cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win. After losses at four and five singles, Kourtney Moore put the Wildcats back on top with a 6-2, 7-5 win at three singles. 
Claire Parry fell behind after her first set in singles and fought back to win 7-5 and force a third set, but was unable to overcome singles opponent Sharon Biondi.
Emily Hill battled through three sets but was unable to close out the match.
 
JWU finishes the regular season with a 13-2 record and will return to action this spring beginning in April.
