Men's Golf Tops Nichols & UMass Dartmouth

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI – Day two has been very strong for the Johnson & Wales University men's golf team this fall. The Wildcats shot a season-low 287 on Sunday to defeat Nichols and UMass Dartmouth at the North Kingstown Golf Course.

Johnson & Wales posted a two-day total of 595 (308-287) to edge Nichols at 604. UMD posted a 617 team score.

Winning the event was sophomore Claudio Soukamneuth as he fired a three-under 67 to finish the tournament with a one under par 139 (72-67). Junior Alex Parente shaved 13 strokes off his Saturday round for a two-day score of 153 (83-70).

Also posting a 153 was Ryan Malloy with rounds of 77 and 76. Hunter DiLorenzo chopped six shots off his Saturday score for a 154 (80-74). Christian Maselli was two strokes better on Sunday for a 156 (79-77).

The Wildcats are off for the week before starting their GNAC title defense on October 13 at Blackstone National.
