Wildcats Take Fourth at Central Series 4

MEDFORD, Mass. – A windy day on the Upper Mystic Lake didn't slow down the Johnson & Wales University sailing team. The Wildcats placed fourth at the Central Series 4 regatta, hosted by Tufts University.

Johnson & Wales scored 114 points to finish just behind Brown University. Boston University won the event with 29 points.

Coming in sixth was the A boat with Peter Sterflinger (Centerport, N.Y.) serving as captain. Lily Doolin (Beverly Hills, Mich.) was the crew for the first two races and Michael Campbell (Hinsdale, NH) handled the duties for race 3-8. They had three top-five finishes, including fourth-place in the second race.

Junior Thomas Pluchino (Centerport, N.Y.) was the captain of the B boat that placed ninth. Crew responsibilities were handled by Marina Merchant (Queensbury, NY) in the first two races and Caoilinn Boyle (Plymouth, Mass.) in the final six.

Up next for the Wildcats is the O'Toole Trophy, hosted by Mass Maritime on April 23.
