Box Score The women's volleyball team defeated Suffolk by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-14) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest on the road at Regan Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.
Junior Paula Cadavid (Pawtucket, R.I.) paced Johnson & Wales with 13 kills, four digs and two blocks while senior Lauren Cordts (Amherst, N.H.) recorded 10 kills and three blocks for the Wildcats. Junior Kellen Tensen (New Canaan, Conn.) notched 32 set assists while senior Kaitlin Kuntz (Boone, Iowa) was the defensive standout with 22 digs in the victory.
Junior Yabriel Perez (Boston, Mass.) led the way for Suffolk with two kills and 13 digs while senior Glamarys Sierra (Carolina, Puerto Rico) notched seven set assists while senior Katie Matatall (Danville, N.H.) recorded a team-high 14 kills in the loss for the Rams.
With the victory Johnson & Wales improves to 12-14 overall and 5-2 in the GNAC while Suffolk drops to 7-17 overall and 2-5 in league play. The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, October 25th when they travel to St. Joseph's of Connecticut for a GNAC tri-match with host St. Joseph and Emmanuel, starting at 12:00 p.m.
