men's soccer team fell to St. Joseph's of Maine, 1-0 in
a Great Northeast Athletics Conference contest on the road on
Saturday afternoon.
The two teams battled through a scoreless first half with both
teams netting four shots in the stanza.
The host Monks would break the scoreless tie when Teddy
Palmer put in a pass from Jack LaFreniere at the 60:19 mark
for the games only goal en route to the 1-0 victory.
Senior Joe Ferraro (Freehold, N.J.) had eight
saves in net for the Wildcats while Nick Campasano
had five stops for St. Joseph's of Maine in the shutout.
With the loss Johnson & Wales is now 2-8-1, 1-4 in the GNAC
while St. Joseph's improves to 6-5-2 overall, 3-1-1 in the
GNAC. The Wildcats will return to action on Monday, October
11th when they travel to Lasell for a GNAC contest at
4:00 p.m.
