Box Score The Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team dropped a
2-0 decision against Albertus Magnus in a Great Northeast Athletics
Conference contest at Pierce Stadium on Saturday
afternoon.
In the first half, the two teams battled to a scoreless tie
despite a 9-1 shot advantage for the Falcons.
Albertus Magnus junior forward, Jamal Howard (West
Haven, Conn.) put in the
first goal of the game in at the 71st minute. Howard put
his second unassisted goal in during the 79th minute
with a blast from 5 yards out on the right side of the net to lead
the Falcons to the 2-0 victory.
Senior Joe
Ferraro (Freehold, N.J.) had seven saves in net for
the Wildcats while Donato Piroscafo
(Naugatuck,
Conn.) had one save for Albertus
Magnus in the shutout.
With the loss Johnson & Wales is now 2-7-1, 1-3 in the GNAC
while Albertus Magnus improves to 9-2 overall, 3-1 in the GNAC. The
Wildcats will return to action on Wednesday, October 6th
when they host MIT for a non-conference contest at 6:00 p.m.
