dropped a 2-0 decision against intra-state rival Salve Regina in a
non-conference contest on the road on Thursday evening.
Salve Regina jumped out to the early lead when Trevor
Audet headed in a corner kick from Sean
MacAllister just 9:01 into the contest. The host
Seahawks took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
The two teams battled throughout the second half before Salve
Regina added an insurance goal at the 88:30 mark, from MacAllister
en route to the 2-0 victory.
Senior Joe Ferraro (Freehold, N.J.) had seven
saves in goal for the Wildcats while Matthew
Sweeney and Devin O'Gorman combined
for the shut out in goal for Salve Regina.
With the loss Johnson & Wales is now 2-10-1 while Salve
Regina improves to 10-3-1 for the year. The Wildcats will return to
action on Saturday, October 16th when they host Emerson in a Great
Northeast Athletic Conference contest at 1:00 p.m.
