WALTHAM, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback to Brandeis University Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Gordon Field.

Tara Button led the Wildcats (1-1-0) with two shots apiece, while first-year
Mia Mangano also recorded two shots. JWU registered six shots – including four on goal – while Brandeis finished with 12 shots and six on target.
Brandeis (1-0-0) broke through at 37:36 when Grace Carman converted a penalty kick for the lone goal of the match. The penalty was awarded following a foul on Brandeis' Ella Kauffman.

Ava Vaughan (1-1-0) kept the Wildcats within striking distance with five saves, including four in the first half.
