Emily Downing scored her fourth goal of the season 6:12 into overtime to propel the JWU (Providence) field hockey team to a 2-1 win over Plymouth State University Tuesday night in non-conference action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Sophia Brea made six saves.
Geil scored on a penalty stroke at the end of the third, tucking a shot inside the left post to break a scoreless tie. The Panthers got a break late in the fourth when a centering pass struck a JWU defender and found the back of the net to tie the game at one.
In overtime, Millett carried the ball over the midfield line and sent a pass to Downing, who fired a shot past the PSU keeper. JWU finished the contest with a 30-13 advantage in shots and senior
