Obert, Diaz headline list of CNE All-Conference performers

Randazzo named to Second Team, Cobb garners Third Team nod

BEVERLY, Mass. – Senior Jack Obert and sophomore Yedan Diaz have been named to the Conference of New England (CNE) Baseball All-Conference First Team. Redshirt junior Max Randazzo was named to the Second Team, sophomore Michael Cobb earned a Third Team nod, and senior Carlo Acquisto, Jr. was placed on the Community Service Team.

Obert led the conference in home runs (10) and slugging pct. (.610), and was second in walks (30), fifth in RBI (40), and seventh in runs (39). The Plymouth, Massachusetts native was named CNE Player of the Week on two occasions this season and drove in two-or-more runs 12 times, highlighted by a two-home run, four-RBI effort against Roger Williams on Match 25. Obert smacked a grand slam home run in his final collegiate game on Senior Day against Suffolk on May 1.

Obert graduates No. 3 in runs (174), No. 5 in home runs (18), No. 6 in RBI (129), and tied for No. 7 in hits (174) in program history.

Diaz finished the season second in the conference with a .398 average and a .485 on-base percentage. The Worcester, Massachusetts native started all 28 games he appeared in following an early-season injury and hit safely in 23 games. Diaz recorded 12 multi-hit outings and a trio of four-hit efforts in 2026 – one of which came against Mitchell on April 22 – and drove in a season-high five runs on four hits in a win over the Hawks on March 25.

Randazzo led the CNE in strikeouts (77) and was fourth in opponent batting average (.218). He allowed the eighth-fewest hits amongst starting pitchers in the conference and posted three double-digit strikeout games, including 12 against nationally-ranked and eventual conference champion Endicott on April 25. The Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania native also fanned 10 against Marietta (March 13) and Curry (March 28).

Cobb appeared in 18 games and went 1-2 with a 2.62 earned run average. The Lincoln, Massachusetts native fanned 41 in 34.1 innings of work and did not allow an earned run in 11 of his 18 outings. Cobb struck out a season-high eight in 4.2 innings of work against Hartford on April 14.

Acquisto Jr. batted .273 this season with a triple and four RBI, driving in two against Eastern Connecticut State on April 12 and again on Senior Day against Suffolk on May 1. The Burrillville, Rhode Island native laced a career-high four hits in game one against the Rams on his final day of collegiate competition.

Tyler Waterbury (Western New England) was named both CNE Player and Rookie of the Year. Endicott student-athletes James Benestad and Brady Stuart were named Defensive Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, while their head coach, Bryan Haley, took home Coach of the Year accolades. Nick Cullinan (Wentworth) was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
