Riley Shepley racked up seven points for the JWU (Providence) women's lacrosse team in a 17-4 win over Salem State University Monday night in non-conference at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
The San Diego, California native scored three goals and dished out four assists as the Wildcats ran their win streak to five and climbed over the .500 mark at 6-5. Classmate
Sidney Mayers added four goals and an assist while senior
Mila Kuilan netted three.
Sophomore
Kelsey Higgins, along with first-years
Addison Stratton and
Giovanna Gulinello, each scored twice. Higgins won a team-high four draw controls, and Mayers and classmate
Maggie Fitzgerald both caused three turnovers.
JWU outshot the Vikings – who fell to 8-1 with the loss – by a 32-13 margin and held the visitors to 7-of-21 on clears (33 pct.). The Wildcats led 11-0 at halftime and led by as many as 14 goals (15-1) late in the third quarter.
