PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) softball team ran its win streak to six with a doubleheader sweep of the University of Hartford Saturday afternoon at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Mady Lyons smacked a two-run home run and junior
Jessica Forneiro went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Wildcats. Forneiro's infield single in the first brought in what proved to be the only run JWU would need before Lyons launched her 13th home run of the season to make it 3-0. Run-scoring singles from first-year

Morgan Pelletier in the sixth stretched the lead to 6-0 before junior
Gabby Bellamore laced an RBI single in the sixth to cap the scoring. Senior
Jillian Reed held the Hawks to just three hits and fanned eight to move to 11-4 on the season.
Game Two: Wildcats 5, Hawks 4
Forneiro launched a two-run home run in the first and Pelletier also left the yard and drove in two as the Wildcats improved to 16-14 on the season (9-7 CNE). Bellamore drove in a run with a fourth-inning single. Junior
Madi Wong moved to 3-3 with the win as she allowed one run over four innings of work.
