Shepley nets eight in loss to Lyons

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – First-year Riley Shepley scored eight goals for the second time this season in a 19-11 loss for the JWU (Providence) women's lacrosse team to Wheaton (MA) College Friday night in non-conference action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Senior Mila Kuilan added a pair of goals for the Wildcats (8-7), who also received a goal and an assist from first-year Sidney Mayers. First-year Keira Donegan won eight draw controls and junior Alyssa Morrison notched a team-high three ground balls.

Senior goalie Kylie O'Keefe got the start in goal for JWU and made five saves. She juggled playing time between the pipes with first-year Carley Cook, who stopped six shots.

The Lyons (11-4) – who forced 21 turnovers – outscored the Wildcats 11-5 in the second half.
