PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) softball team split its non-conference doubleheader with UMass Dartmouth Thursday afternoon at the Scott Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Game One: Wildcats 7, Corsairs 3

Olivia Mason smacked a two-run home run – her first of the season – and sparked a five-run fifth to propel the Wildcats to a win in the opener. First-year
Abigail Hanna drove in her first two collegiate runs with a single to right and junior
Chloe Brunelle doubled to left to plate another. Senior
Mady Lyons finished with three hits and classmate
Jadyn Torres went 2-for-4. Senior
Jillian Reed moved to 7-4 with the win as she allowed six hits and three runs (two earned) with one walk and one strikeout over seven.
Game Two: Corsairs 7, Wildcats 3

Macy Pagano laced a two-run single in the first and Torres plated sophomore
Hailey Cardiello with a double in the fourth to account for the Wildcats (10-14) scoring. The Corsairs (18-8) broke a two-all tie with three runs in the fourth before tacking on three in the sixth. Junior
Madi Wong took the loss as she allowed eight hits and five runs in 3.0 innings of work.
