Wildcats, Bison settle for a split in Dudley

DUDLEY, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) softball team split a doubleheader with Nichols College Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Nichols Softball Field.

Game One: Wildcats 5, Bison 3
Senior Jadyn Torres and sophomore Morgan Pelletier each drove in two runs to lead the Wildcats to a game one win. Sophomore Gabby Bellamore opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second. Later, with the game tied at three in the seventh, Torres plated senior Olivia Mason and freshman Abigail Hanna with a single up the middle Senior Jillian Reed held the Bison to four hits and three runs while striking out five to earn her sixth win of the season.

Game Two: Bison 5, Wildcats 3
Pelletier went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI. Junior Chloe Brunelle picked up a pair of hits and drove in a run with a single in the third. Junior Madi Wong suffered the loss as she surrendered six hits and four runs with two walks and two punchouts in four innings of work.
