JWU opens conference play with loss to Hartford

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Jack Davis scored three goals for the JWU (Providence) men's lacrosse team in a 20-4 loss to the University of Hartford Wednesday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Classmate Jacob Graham handed out a pair of assists as the Wildcats slipped to 1-4 on the season (0-1 CNE). Junior Jack Donnelly also scored for JWU while freshman Eddie Stradowski collected an assist.

Davis picked up a natural hat trick in the first quarter but the Wildcats trailed by three at halftime (7-4). The Hawks (4-3, 1-0 CNE) outscored the home team 13-0 over the final 30 minutes.

Freshman Tom Packer recorded eight saves before being lifted in favor of junior Cameron Courchesne to start the fourth. Freshman Chase Dimeco led JWU with eight ground balls.
