Donnelly pots six goals in 19-3 win over AMCats

PAXTON, Mass. – Junior Jack Donnelly racked up nine points on six goals and three helpers for the JWU (Providence) men's lacrosse team in a 19-3 win over Anna Maria College Wednesday night in non-conference action at Caparso Field.

Junior Jacob Graham (2-3-5) and sophomore Matthew Bancroft (2-3-5) each collected five points as the Wildcats notched their first win of the season. Freshman Eddie Stradowski picked up his first collegiate hat trick and finished with four points as JWU outshot the AMCats, 55-21.

The Wildcats struck for seven goals in the opening 8:44 of the contest – including two from Graham – and outscored the home team 8-0 in the second to settle into a 15-1 halftime lead.

Freshman Nate Cowell tallied his first two collegiate goals while sophomores Jacob Tresser and Greyson Doyle each scored twice. Graham led JWU with 11 shots, Donnelly notched a team-high six ground balls, and senior Thomas Haggerty was a perfect 15-of-15 at the X.

Four different student-athletes combined to record eight saves for the Wildcats.
