PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) women's basketball strolled to an 89-44 win over Curry College in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Senior Day at the Wildcat Center.
Sophomore
Brianne Foley led all student-athletes with 24 points (9-of-15 shooting) to go with eight rebounds. Classmate
Grace Jaffray collected 21 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats, who ran their win streak to 10 and lifted their record to 19-4 on the season (13-1 CNE).
Sophomore
Gabriela D'Ambrosio came off the bench to knock down a pair of triples and finished with nine points for JWU, which shot 48 percent and canned 12-of-14 from the charity stripe.
Defensively, the Wildcats forced 21 turnovers which led to 28 points and held a 43-35 edge on the glass. Senior
Mikayla Caruso – who, along with
Alexa Lora, was honored prior to the start of the game – registered six points, six boards and two assists. Lora, meanwhile, tallied four points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The Wildcats held a 16-point halftime lead (43-27) and pulled away in the fourth, outscoring the Colonels (3-20, 2-12 CNE) by a 28-8 margin.
