Wildcats rally in third for 2-1 win over Hawks

FALL RIVER, Mass. – Junior Chris Alexander and sophomore Brad Crook scored third period goals less than five minutes apart to rally the JWU (Providence) men's ice hockey team to a 2-1 win over Roger Williams University Friday evening in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Driscoll Arena.

Sophomore Joseph Sciabarra added a pair of assists for the Wildcats, who snapped a seven-game winless streak and moved to 7-13-2 on the season (5-10-1 CNE) with the win. Crook also collected an assist and junior netminder Jake Inzirillo turned aside 30 shots.

The Hawks (6-15-1, 4-12-1 CNE) opened the scoring 1:58 into the contest and held the lead until Crook potted his third goal of the season at 4:37 to tie the game at one. Freshman Thomas Jacques set up the play and was credited with the assist.

Less than five minutes later, Alexander netted the game-winner at 8:56 off a feed from Crook. The Wildcats finished the night with a 37-31 shots advantage.
