Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

No. 8 Gulls use four second-period goals to down Wildcats

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) men's ice hockey team fell to No. 8 Endicott College 8-2 Tuesday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Schneider Arena.

Sophomore Noah LaFleur and freshman Zachary Brady found the back of the net for the Wildcats (6-13-2, 4-10-1 CNE) in a contest which originally began on November 7 before being suspended 29 seconds into the second period with JWU leading 1-0.

Junior Jake Inzirillo got the start in net and finished with the contest with 35 saves in 40 minutes of action. Sophomore Maxim Zinchenko played the final 20 minutes and stopped 10 shots.

The Gulls (17-3-2, 12-3-2 CNE) – who scored four goals in a span of 6:43 in the second period – saw four student-athletes record three points: Taylor Aldrich (2-1-3), Jack Costanzo (2-1-3), Brad Zona (1-2-3), and Therien Thiesing (0-3-3).

Juniors Brad Crook and Connor Nelson, along with sophomore Ryan Walsh, each collected an assist for the Wildcats.

Endicott finished the night with a 53-21 shots advantage and killed off four-of-five JWU power plays.
