Sophia Warburton scored her sixth goal of the season late in the first half to propel the JWU (Providence) women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at the University of Hartford Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium.
First-year
Mia Mangano set up the goal, which came at 42:26 and gave the Wildcats their seventh win of the season (5-3-1 CNE). The defending CNE Champions held a slim 6-4 advantage in shots but were unable to solve senior goalkeeper
Ava Vaughan, who stopped two shots to earn the win.
Warburton led all student-athletes with three shots.
