Cailean Corbally scored her second goal of the season and freshman
Jaelynn Bucinelli recorded seven saves in her collegiate debut to backstop the JWU (Providence) women's hockey team to a 1-0 win over Anna Maria College Friday evening in non-conference action at Lynch Arena.
Freshman
Annalise MacPhee recorded an assist on the Wildcats goal, which helped them snap a four-game losing skid and brings them back to within a game of .500 at 5-6-0.
Following a scoreless first which saw JWU outshoot the AMCats 17-1, MacPhee slid a pass from the left point to Corbally on the right side, and her wrister found its way over the shoulder of AMC goalie Megan Tegenhoff.
The Wildcats outshot the AMCats 40-7 and won 35-of-48 face-offs (73 pct.), led by sophomores
Ashlyn Libby (11-of-13) and
Ava Morgan (10-o-17). Junior
Sophia Brea led all skaters with six shots.
