Cardinals upend Wildcats, 3-1

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Senior Kylie O'Keefe scored her third goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team in a 3-1 loss at Wesleyan (CT) University Monday evening in non-conference action at Spurrier-Snyder Arena.

Sophomores Jordan Hopping and Ava Morgan racked up assists on the goal for the Wildcats, who fell behind 3-0 early in the third before the captain got JWU on the board.

The Cardinals scored a pair of goals in the second to break a scoreless tie, the second of which came with the Wildcats on the PP. The home team made it 3-0 less than three minutes into the third before O'Keefe potted her 15th career goal at 9:11.

Morgan won 13-of-18 at the face-off dot while junior Sadie Davignon and freshman Annalise MacPhee were each credited with two blocked shots. Freshman Avery Hall stopped 36 shots between the pipes for JWU.
