PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Sophomore netminder
Maxim Zinchenko made 33 save in a 2-1 loss for the JWU (Providence) men's ice hockey team to No. 8 University of New England Saturday evening in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Lynch Arena.

Bret Beale potted his sixth goal of the season with eight minutes remaining in the second to give the Wildcats (6-11-1, 4-9-0 CNE) a 1-0 lead which they held until midway through the third. Freshmen
Zachary Brady and
Patrick Poirier picked up assists on the goal, which Brady set up with a centering pass that Beale redirected over the shoulder of the UNE netminder.
The Nor'easters (12-5-0, 12-3-0) finally drew even by converting on their second 5-of-3 power play of the contest at 8:59, then moved in front less than four minutes later. UNE outshot the home team 19-4 in the third and wrapped the contest with a 37-26 edge in shots. Dominic Murphy and Chip Hamlett each racked up two apples for the Nor'easters.
The Wildcats were unable to convert on seven power-play opportunities but killed of 7-of-8 PP chances for UNE. JWU blocked a total of 24 shots, led by Poirier with five and junior
Brad Crook with four.
