Hall stops 33 shots in 2-1 loss to Golden Bears

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Senior captain Kylie O'Keefe scored her fourth goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team in a 2-1 loss to Western New England University Friday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Levy Rink.

Sophomore Jordan Hopping and senior Allyson Barry picked up assists on the goal for the Wildcats (6-8-0, 4-5-0 CNE), who were outshot 28-17 over the final 40 minutes of the contest. Freshman netminder Avery Hall turned aside 33 shots for JWU.

Following a scoreless first period which saw the Wildcats outshoot the Golden Bears 12-7, O'Keefe knocked in a pass from Hopping at the right post at 3:35 for a 1-0 lead. The visitors tied the game less than five minutes later on a goal from Jenna Lynch, who potted the GWG following a JWU turnovers in its own end with 3:39 remaining in regulation.

Sophomore Grace Adams paced the Wildcats with five shots while Hopping and sophomore Cailean Corbally each blocked three shots. The Golden Bears finished the night with a 35-29 edge in shots and 0-for-4 on the PP. JWU went 0-for-1 with the extra attacker.
