Volleyball rebounds from loss to Skidmore with 3-2 triumph over SUNY Geneseo

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The JWU (Providence) women's volleyball team opened Saturday with a 3-0 loss to Skidmore but closed the day with a 3-2 come-from-behind win over SUNY Geneseo in non-conference action at the Skidmore Classic at Williamson Sports Center.

Thoroughbreds 3, Wildcats 0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-17)
Sophomore Nevaeh Arnold recorded 10 kills to lead the Wildcats while freshman Vivi Mansfield collected seven kills and sophomore Bailey Koopman notched five kills and two blocks. Freshman Sophia Santacroce handed out 20 assists and senior Sierra Nausieda picked up 11 digs.

Wildcats 3, Knights 2 (28-30, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-13)
Arnold and senior Ajie Jagne combined for 28 kills while Koopman and freshman Brooke Caquelin each tallied eight as the Wildcats rallied from an 0-2 hole to secure their fourth win of the season. Santacroce registered 34 digs for JWU, which racked up 14 service aces, eight of which came from Arnold and three others from Caquelin. Nausieda compiled 23 digs and Santacroce added another 11, and Jagne finished with three blocks.

Following the tournament, Nausieda was named to the Skidmore Classic All-Tournament Team.
