Wildcats even record with 5-0 thumping of Lancers

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Bruno Teixeira racked up a goal and two assists for the JWU (Providence) men's soccer team in a 5-0 win over Worcester State University Wednesday night in non-conference action at Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Senior Carlos Andrade and junior Christopher Vargas each tallied a goal and an assist as the Wildcats (1-1-0) grabbed a 1-0 lead just 1:37 into the match and never looked back. Eight different student-athletes registered at least one point for JWU, which finished the night with a 17-10 advantage in shots.

Teixeira's first tally of 2025 off a feed from Andrade staked the home team to a 1-0 lead. Less than three minutes later, Andrade potted his second goal with assists going to Teixeira and freshman Ethan L'Italien.

In the second half, sophomore Elijah Coleman launched a shot from the left side of the field that found the right corner of the net and made it 3-0. Vargas (60:35) and freshman Jayden Suriel (86:15) each notched their first goals of the season down the stretch to secure the win.

Junior Alexander Nardolillo recorded four saves to record his first collegiate victory.
