Susannah Brown scored her first goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) field hockey team in a 3-1 loss to Salve Regina Wednesday evening in non-conference action at Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Caitlin Quinn was credited with an assist on the goal, which came 3:28 into the contest for the Wildcats (1-1). Junior
Sophia Brea stopped 12 shots for JWU, which also received a pair of defensive saves from junior
Hannah Geil.
Salve Regina knotted the game seven minutes into the second quarter before scoring the eventual game-winner 6:14 into the second half. The Seahawks – who outshot the home 30-5 and held a 19-2 edge in penalty corners – tacked on an insurance marker with 1:40 remaining.
